Title - Service to Industry - (ICI Billingham Chemical Works - South Grid Sidings).
Condition Grade and Condition Report:
Location - Billingham-on-Tees, County Durham, England.
Artist - Terence Tenison Cuneo (1907-1996).
Description - Wonderful deep colours in this industrial painting, which was commissioned by British Railways from Terence Cuneo. It was produced to show some of the progress being made with the modernisation of British Railways and the unsung work they did, with a new diesel locomotive in the centre of the view, and a steam locomotive in the smokey shadows to the left. The giant chemical works provided a huge amount of work for the railways for many years. The "British Rail" name and double arrows logo, suggests that this poster was part of a second release of the poster from the original print run, after the 1965 re-branding.
