Description - A wonderful depiction of river-based activities on the River Great Ouse, we think looking north towards the town with the parish church and the old town bridge (demolished 1964) in the background. It is an early pictorial poster produced by the Great Northern Railway, undated and unsigned, but probably a post 1918 release to encourage peaceful trips from London, which even then was only one hour's travel by train.

Size - Double Royal  (approx 40 x 25in or 101.5 x 63.5cm) plus linen border.

Condition Grade and Condition Report:
Grade: B+, conservation-backed on linen.
Backed on linen as acquired, with repairs to tears within the top and bottom wording areas (image area unaffected). The white borders appear to have been overpainted by a previous owner, presumably due to ageing or staining. More detailed photos are available on request if required.
