Title - Anglesey – Trearddur Bay – A Winter and Summer Resort.
Location - Trearddur, Holy Island, Anglesey, Wales.
Artist - Henry John Yeend King RWS RBA VPRI ROI (1855-1924).
Description - In the foreground of this wonderfully lit peaceful view is Porth Y Post beach, Trearddur Bay is actually about a mile round the coast. The hotel is the Cliff Hotel shown with a little artistic licence to be nearer the sea. At the time it was almost on it's own whereas it is now surrounded by holiday parks. The gorse adds some colour to the picture. This is one of the LMS (London Midland & Scottish Railway) posters from their 'The Best Way' series from the mid 1920s.

Repairs to large tears from left edge into image, small paper-loss replacements along the bottom edge including in the lower left wording, with watercolour pencil touch-ups. Some engrained grubbiness remaining, mainly around the edges. More detailed photos are available on request if required.
More About The Artist:
Henry John Yeend King was born in 1855 in London. He studied under the Victorian artist William Bromley and then went to Paris where he was influenced by French Realists and Impressionists. This gave his work its distinctive light and colour. His work was always of rural scenes, often involving farming life and he was a celebrated lanscape painter. His railway posters were produced at the very end of his life.
