Title - The New Euston Station Is Now Open - British Rail.
Description - The 1960s was an era of 'new' architecture, including a number of station replacements going along with the west coast mainline electrification project. The crown jewel of the project was London's Euston station. The Victorian buildings were completely replaced with this modernist construction of glass, concrete, granite and aluminium, finally open by Queen Elizabeth II on 14th Oct 1968. These artists' views are certainly brighter than I remember the station being in the 1990s. There were originally no seats breaking up the very open feel, but some were later added after complaints from passengers. The poster was produced to coincide with the opening, and to show the clean future of the railways.
