Title - Skegness - Easter Sunday April 2nd.
Location - Skegness, Lincolnshire, England.
Artist - George (Geo) Ayling (1887-1960).
Description - This poster for an Easter Sunday April 2nd Excursion to Skegness uses a specific "Stock" image of a lovely view of the seafront illuminations with the pier in the distance. British Railways would have had a large number of these posters printed with just the image, and then they would have been run through the printers again to add whatever wording was required at the time. This way one poster image could be reused many times and for many events over a number of years.
It shows prices and times for departures from Grantham, Sleaford and Boston. It is undated, but Easter Sunday wasn't on the 2nd in any other suitable year.
Excursion posters were always printed in small numbers, so very few examples have survived.
