Description - This is an unusual view of one part of the interior of Lincoln Cathedral, showing detail of the massive stained glass windows and scaffolding used to assist with major structural restoration work which started in 1935. Taylor was well known for his poster work showing the architecture of many ancient buildings.
Lincoln Cathedral was a regular subject for LNER posters, particularly from the brush of Fred Taylor.

Repaired tears, a little age-discolouration. The poster has been slightly trimmed by a previous owner, but the printers references at the bottom have not been removed. More detailed photos are available on request if required.
More About The Artist:
Fred Taylor was born in London, studied art in Paris, London and Italy, and worked at the Waring and Gillow studio. He designed posters from 1908 until the 1940s, and worked with the navy on camouflage during WWII. His work is in several public collections. He produced posters for a series of railways companies, London Transport, the Empire Marketing Board and shipping companies.
