Description - A busy historic imagining of Boston's Market Square, looking from the middle of the Market Place towards St Botolph's Church and it's famous "Stump" tower. The view is very similar today, with the Stump & Candle pub in the building to the left side, and the Mobility/KFC and Fish & Chip shop buildings in the centre. This is one of a small series produced by the LNER on the subject of market places.

More About The Artist:
Austin Cooper settled in London in 1922, and started his poster designing career with his first commission from London Transport, for whom he produced a lot of work. He later produced works for the LNER, and for the Empire Marketing Board. In 1943 he moved on to become a full time painter.
