Description - A fabulous rocky coastal view of what is presumably northern Cornwall. The location is not stated and we can't pinpoint it, however hard we try! The north Cornwall coast is peppered with rocky coves and bays just like the one Merriott has depicted, some still with small fishing boast, and many coastal walks still providing similar views today.

Size - Double Royal (approx 40 x 25in or 101.5 x 63.5cm) plus linen border.

Jack Merriott was a landscape and portrait painter, who used both oil and watercolour media. He lectured widely, wrote and illustrated related books, and was vice president of the RI. He produced artwork for quite a number of railway posters.
