Description - Lincoln Cathedral was a regular subject for LNER posters, particularly from the brush of Fred Taylor. This particular poster only shows the north-west corner of the cathedral, with as much emphasis being given to the more colourful buildings of Minster Yard and Exchequer Gate. The wording at the bottom shows that this example was produced for the French-speaking Belgian market, with information given for the LNER's Brussels agent.

Well repaired pinholes, small paper losses at bottom edge, tears around edges and a larger one at the top of the image. More detailed photos are available on request if required.
More About The Artist:
Fred Taylor was born in London, studied art in Paris, London and Italy, and worked at the Waring and Gillow studio. He designed posters from 1908 until the 1940s, and worked with the navy on camouflage during WWII. His work is in several public collections. He produced posters for a series of railways companies, London Transport, the Empire Marketing Board and shipping companies.
