More About The Artist:
Alan Durman had photographic training in Weymouth, moved to London, working in window display and was soon appointed to the Display Department of the Imperial Tobacco Co. as artist and photographer. During the War he served as an officer in the R.A.S.C.
He worked in all types of materials and gained a reputation as a mural artist, producing work for the Berkeley Cafe, Clifton and in Saltford Community Hall. He was a successful poster designer for Eastern National Coach Company and produced many bathing belle posters for British Railways during the 1950s and 60s.
