Description - A lovely bright depiction of a smiling family in their car, about to cross to the continent. From a time when one could just drive up to the ferry, be met by a cheery official and drive straight on. The poster was a joint production between British Railways and SNCF.

More About The Artist:
Laurence Fish was born in London, and started work as an illustrator, after the war becoming internationally known. He produced illustration and technical image work for many large industrial companies as well as his posters for British Railways, which he signed as "Laurence". He also had a fine art style, which was rather different, and on which he concentrated in later years.
