Title - Filey For The Family - It's Quicker By Rail.
Location - Filey, Yorkshire, England.
Artist - Dorothea Sharp ROI RBA (1873-1955).
Description - Filey is south of Scarborough on the Yorkshire coast. Dorothea Sharp was well known for images of playing children such as this, and Filey's tag-line for many years was "For The Family". The area's rock pools have always attracted small children, and Sharp's naturalistic oil painting would have got children's attention on railway platforms.
