Queen Guinevere - West Summary

Title - Further afield the May is still sweet. And there are many ways out of London. (Queen Guinevere).
- Joseph Walter West (1860-1933).

- "Queen Guinevere rides a-Maying into the Woods and Fields beside Westminster in great Joy and Delight."
The poster shows Queen Guinevere, from the Arthurian legends, on horseback gathering Mayflower. Even in 1921 it would be rather unlikely to find any open fields beside Westminster, so the poster is mixing fiction and fact, with the wording at the bottom suggesting using an Undeground train to get out into the countryside in springtime to see the May flowering.
