Title - Gt Yarmouth – Fishermen's Almshouses - Its Quicker By Rail LNER.
Location - Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England.
Artist - Fred Taylor RI (1875-1963).
Description - A very unusual location for a poster for Great Yarmouth. As ever it shows Taylor's ability with architectural subjects, with the floral additions brightening up the image well. The Almshouses were built in 1702 at the north end of the marketplace, to provide cottages for 20 poor fishermen and their wives. The entrance view is largely unchanged today with the stone sculpture of Charity still on a plinth, and they are now called the Fishermen's Hospital. The condition issues don't really detract from the main image.
