Description
- An unusual linocut black and white depiction of the old Mill north of Old Harlow on the River Stort, with light green added to bring some warmth to it. The poster was produced by the London Passenger Transport Board (LPTB), and was presumably related to bus and coach services which they ran, to encourage Londoners to visit the country. The Harlow Mill site is now a hotel and restaurant.

Grade: B+, conserved on Japan as acquired.
Not folded, backed on Japan (very thin Japanese paper) as acquired. Replaced and well restored paper-loss to bottom left corner. More detailed photos are available on request if required.

Walter Ernest Spradbery was born in East Dulwich, London. He was a watercolourist, linocut artist, poster designer and art teacher. He produced a large number of poster for the London Transport companies, as well as some for the LNER and British Railways.
