Description - The picturesque ruins of the Augustinian Kirkham Priory are seen across the nearby ancient stone bridge crossing the River Derwent. The York to Scarborough railway runs just behind the viewpoint, making it very handy, although the station had closed in 1930. It is also just off the A64. The Grade 1 listed ruins are cared for by English Heritage.
