- This "Stock" poster used an image by Pat Keely from 1951. British Railways would have had a large number of these posters printed with just the image, and then they would have been run through the printers again to add whatever wording was required at the time. This way one poster image could be reused many times and for many events over a number of years.
This particular example was used for Excursions from the East Midlands to the 2000 Guineas horse race at Newmarket in 1957. That was the year that Lester Piggott won riding Crepello. Year Published

Some wear-through on folds, pin holes in corners, some bleed across from top to bottom half due to long-term folded storage and being thin "letterpress" paper. More detailed photos are available on request if required.More About The Artist:
Patrick Cokayne Keely designed posters, press advertisements and trade matter for London Transport, Southern Railway and the Post Office before the Second World War.
During the war, he produced posters for the Ministry of Information targeting the Ministry of Labour and National Service campaigns including accident prevention.
After the war he continued his association with the railways.
