Title - Porthcawl - Seaside Excursion - Easter Monday 1959.
Location - Porthcawl, Glamorgan, Wales.
Artist - Studio Seven.
Description - This poster for Easter Excursions to Porthcawl uses a "Stock" image of a generic view of a family enjoying the seaside. British Railways would have had a large number of these posters printed with just the image, and then they would have been run through the printers again to add whatever wording was required at the time. This way one poster image could be reused many times and for many events over a number of years.
It lists prices and times shown for departures from Treherbert, Treorchy, Ystrad (Rhondda), Llwynypia, Tonypandy and Trealaw, Dinas (Rhondda), Maerdy, Ferndale, Tylorstown, Ynyshir, Porth, Trehafod, Pontypridd and Treforest.
Excursion posters were always printed in small numbers, so very few have survived. Porthcawl, in South Wales, lost it's railway link in September 1963.
