Description - A fantastic watercolour view of the town of Ross-on-Wye viewed from the river alongside Wilton Road, where a number of summer activities are taking place. St Mary's Parish Church is in the centre, standing above the old town. It all looks truly peaceful.

Jack Merriott was a landscape and portrait painter, who used both oil and watercolour media. He lectured widely, wrote and illustrated related books, and was vice president of the RI. He produced artwork for quite a number of railway posters.
