Description - A 1920s tennis girl with the haircut and sporting kit of the era. Between the wars outdoor sporting activity was very popular, and for the LNER this was often in association with seaside resorts in England and Scotland, as listed below the image. A very rare poster.

Grade: B+, we have had this poster conservation-backed on linen.
Paper-loss replacements in all four corners including a few letters in the bottom corners. Watercolour pencil restoration and improvements to old staining (more obvious in the white clothing). More detailed photos and before photo are available on request if required.

Lewis Christopher Edward Baumer was born in St John's Wood, London and studied at the Royal Academy of Arts and the Royal College of Art. He was an important cartoonist, working for Punch for over fifty years, and illustrating a large number of books.
